Healthy habits

Hello beauties!

Today we’re going to talk about healthy habits. Well, you should know that health is definitely the one thing you shouldn’t take for granted. Just because you are healthy today nothing guarantees you  will be tomorrow. So, these few habits will make you realize if you need to change something or tell you that you’re going in the right direction.

Never skip breakfast!

Hungry or not, in the morning everyone needs energy for the day. Black coffee and green tea are great ways too wake you up, but the real energy comes from food. My ultimate choice is oatmeal, I usually prep it with milk and because I don’t add sugar I always put a fruit too keep my urge for sweets under control.

Water is life

As we all know, we are 50-75% made of water and it should be normal to consume it. A lot. When I started drinking 2l a day, I felt the difference. Let’s say I was stronger, less sleepy, more active and more clear minded. Because this is something you don’t need no money for, you have no excuses.

Be ambitious

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

We learnt in psychology that self actualization is at the top of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. By achieving your daily, weekly or monthly goals not only you get things done but you really do feel better about yourself. This, my darlings, means less stress. So be ambitious, know your limits and find ways to conquer your obstacles.

Being active is pure happiness

It has been a while since I’ve noticed how I feel happy after zumba. First I thought it was because I started with it recently and it is something new to me, but what actually happens is next – when you work out your body releases endorphins that interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body. In the other words – it makes you happy.

Sleeping is resting

When I lay in bed after a hot shower, great exercise, and look back and see the day in which I was productive, hydrated and with proper and nutritious start I know I did well. But that’s not all, as the cherry on the top a good night sleep is something crucial. If you want to be able to continue this path I just wrote you, remember the last step – 8 hours of sleep every night. Before you know it, you will be waking up in the morning with a smile on your face.

  3. Thank you for sharing these. I’ve never really been a health conscious person, although I should be, because I’ve had essential hypertension since I was 18. But because of that, I feel like I’ve missed out on all the fun of just doing without thinking. Now that I’m older (26), I’m starting to think twice about doing things that could have bad consequences in the future.

    Cheers! 🙂

  9. Its true self-actualization comes easily to those who are ambitious but know there limits. Sadly I am working on that and as for sleep mine is terrible and all over the place. I always have so much work to do.

  13. I try to live a somewhat healthy lifestyle but find myself slipping up on some of these tips mainly not eating breakfast (mainly because solid food on a morning makes me feel heavy and nauseous) and sleeping (I suffer from insomnia so sleeping is the hard one) but I’m trying. Great tips everyone should be following 🙂

  23. I love your list. I recently decided to pay more attention to healthy habits. I took a subscription to a fitness school and started. And indeed, I’m always happy when I went. And I’m drinking way more water. I’m also trying to make different sorts of water with an infusion bottle: mint water or cucumber water.
I should work on sleep. Because I always go too late.

  34. Awesome post – and thank you for the reminder. This morning I got up, and immediately ate something (a banana). I think it gave me a nice kick of energy to put on a pot of oats, and have a cup of tea!

  35. I actually do all of the healthy habits you mentioned except for the sleeping part. I don’t get much sleep. I tend to spend too much time infront of my laptop, or my phone. I now, that is totally unhealthy. I am trying to change my lifestyle though. It is really hard at first, but I hope I’ll get there 🙂
